January 17, 2008 at 12:06 pm So how did I start?Well, after I talked things through with my doctor, I tossed a coin. Was it to be phentermine or Acomplia? I had no problem with phentermine being an amphetamine. I think I might have taken one or two of those when I was younger. Can’t think what was wrong with me but I seem to remember feeling better. Anyway, Acomplia had just come on the market so not much was known about it. I had temporarily put Meridia to one side. Even though the FDA had continued approval in 2005, I thought I would wait and see how the story played out before trying it — as it happens, there’ve been no more problems reported and the most recent study has confirmed its effectiveness |

January 16, 2008 at 5:27 am My motivation to tackle the weight problemSo there I was in the supermarket. I’m getting on a bit in years so it’s become a bit of a struggle to bend those knees to get down to the bottom shelves. Do you remember how it used to be? Just one dip of the knees, flexible waist, an arm that always seemed long enough to reach to the back of the shelf. I never used to think about it. See it. Want it. Pick it up. That was me. |

January 14, 2008 at 2:36 am Those lawmakers have a case to answerI’m going to repeat my admission — sounds a bit like standing up at a Weight Watchers’ meeting to testify — I’ve been putting on weight over the last year. Since my supermarket moment, I’ve been a bit more sensitive to the problems suffered by many. I get the feeling that society’s decided it’s alright to discriminate against those who are overweight. |

January 14, 2008 at 2:34 am Women and the health benefits of weight lossBrowsing round the internet, as you do, I came across an interesting woman. She’s Heather Boyle, claiming the age of 32 years and admitting her weight at 422 pounds. She’s a brave soul by my standards. How many of us make no secret of our age or weight? |

December 12, 2007 at 7:21 pm Study Shows that Acomplia can Reduce Visceral FatA recent study conducted in Japan has shown that the weight loss Acomplia can help to significantly reduce levels of visceral fat in humans. Visceral fat is the fat that collects around the abdomen, where vital internal organs are present. This is the most dangerous type of extra fat that a person can carry. Visceral fat is also called metabolically active fat. It collects around the liver and pancreas and is a leading contributor to disease. |

October 18, 2007 at 11:29 pm Getting Motivated To Weight LossAnyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows it isn’t easy. If you’ve weight on a crash diet or temporary exercise regimen only to gain it back again, it may be even more difficult to get motivated for long term success. To lose weight and keep it off requires more than a quick fix or crash diet. You need to change your lifestyle and incorporate healthy habits into your daily routine on a permanent basis. While this is almost always difficult at first, if you stick with it, it will become much easier. |

October 18, 2007 at 11:21 pm Key motivational factors: 10,000 dollars for every ten minutes of exerciseOnce you start on Phentermine and your appetite begins to decrease your doctor will probably also ask you to begin an exercise routine. When Phentermine is combined with an appropriate exercise routine it can turn a minor weight loss campaign into a highly successful pound slashing initiative. Starting an exercise program isn’t easy though, but once you’ve found the right motivation, exercise can be much more enjoyable and following through will be easier and more realistic. |

October 18, 2007 at 7:27 pm Drinking Your Way to a Healthy BodyWhile dieting it is important to watch what you drink just as much as you watch what you eat. A great number of beverages and fruit juices are packed with high amounts of sugar and will cause weight gain if not properly burned off. This actually defeats the purpose of dieting because by drinking all these beverages full of sugar, you are actually working against your goal. Here are a couple of rules when it comes to what to drink while dieting. |
